Awareness by Kripa Shillong


Awareness for General Community
 
In accordance with a request from eminent members of the General Community, Kripa Shillong conducted an Awareness Programme on Substance abuse and HIV AIDS on 09th August 2013 for around 60 community members.
 
A role play depicting the evils of addiction; its relation to HIV AIDS and role of an addict was enacted by the placement students of the centre. The film, ‘God’s Grace’ was screened followed by life experiences and question-answer session.

Awareness Programme for Students
 
On 20th July 2013, Kripa Shillong conducted an Awareness Programme on Substance abuse and HIV-AIDS for around 150 students of Raid Laban College.
 
The methodology used was role play, inputs and sharing to disseminate information to the students. Placement students under training at the centre also helped in the programme.
 
The students of the college showed enthusiasm by bombarding the resource team with queries that helped clear their doubts and misconceptions.

Awareness Programme for Students
 
On 04th September 2013, Kripa Bareilly conducted an Awareness Programme for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Cantt, Bareilly.
 
The students were informed about addiction as a disease, its effects on the body, mind and soul, effect on family and society. Information on Kripa Model of Recovery and the spiritual change that takes place in the life of an addict were disseminated to them. The feedback received was good.

Awareness in School by Kripa Pune


Awareness at Narsingh High School
 
On 30th August 2013, Kripa Pune conducted an Awareness Programme at Narsingh High School for around 30 students.
 
A documentary was screened wherein students could identify the steps that lead a person to addiction and his downfall. They were also informed of the activities and services of the organization. The school authorities thanked the team for their efforts and commended on the good work of Kripa Foundation.

Awareness for Street Children by Kripa Shillong



Awareness for Street Children
 
Kripa Shillong conducted an Awareness Program on Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS for underprivileged and Street Children at Barabazar, organized by Placement Students of the centre.
 
The children were made aware of the dangerous effects of inhalants and other addictive substances like nicotine, tobacco, etc. The team also explained to them the importance of changes in lifestyle, positive thinking, among other related topics. Snacks and Refreshments concluded the programme.

Kripa Pune addresses the AA fellowship in Pne

Alcoholic Anonymous Meeting
 
On 24th August 2013, Mrs. Anuradha Karkare, Project Director, Kripa Pune addressed the Alcoholic Anonymous members at Arayaneshwar Vidhya Mandir on the theme, ‘Family Life after Abstinence’.
 
She spoke on the hurdles and obstacles faced by an addict on his path to sobriety and techniques to overcome them. She stressed on the importance of A.A. Meetings and Role of the Family in helping an addict stay away from Addiction and lead a life of Sobriety.

Awareness program in High School by Kripa Pune

On 30th August 2013, Kripa Pune conducted an awareness programme for Students of Chopra High School on Drug Addiction and HIV AIDS. The team also spoke on secondary addictive substance like nicotine, tobacco, gutkha, etc and how one falls prey to addiction and the problems created in families and society. The students put forth many queries that were answered by the Resource team.
