One of the top film scholars and critics in
India, Father Gaston Roberge SJ, visited Fr. Joe, Founder Trustee, Kripa
Foundation in Bandra, Mumbai, on November 21, 2012 morning. Fr. Joe briefed Fr. Gaston about the works and
achievements of Kripa since its humble beginnings over 31 years ago, about rehabilitation of substance abuse addicts , HIV care , Yoga and World Christian Community for Meditators (WCCM). Fr. Gaston is renowned for founding the
Chitrabani media institute in 1970 with support from the late Satyajit Ray, one
of the pioneering Indian film-makers who was awarded India’s highest civilian award, the
‘Bharat Ratna’. He is a Jesuit priest and was a lecturer in film studies at the
University of Kolkata before retiring in 2006. Fr.Joe
and Fr. Gaston, during their meeting at the Kripa offices in Bandra (West),
Mumbai, discussed pleasantries, and means of mutual cooperation, especially for Kripa’s
operations in West Bengal. Fr. Gaston was accompanied by Mr. Danny Pereira, District Chairman Lions Club International for Meditation & Yoga. Mr. Danny Pereira is also a Friend of Kripa.
