Just returning from a travel from Jodhpur and on his visit
to Kripa Vasai, Fr. Joe took time off even from his yoga to speak to interns from medical college on this Sunday afternoon for an interview that
lasted for more than two hours. Said Fr. Joe “It is so important to speak to
these medical students as today the patients coming in for treatment in Kripa
are as low as 16 to 20 years, The Doctors are the first point of contact for
these addicts, and If these future doctors give proper and clinical counselling
they will help mankind to a very large scale and bring down the abuse of
addiction in our country.” Making the
Global healing of kripa a reality.
These students who had travelled all the way from Kolhapur
were alma maters of Rajashri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical
College and Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital. The interns were mesmerized as
Fr. Joe explained the Kripa Model of treatment punching in between success case
studies of the alcoholic, Families and children of addicts. He spoke of the
journey from brokenness to wholeness to holiness. Fr. Joe further explained to
the interns how even medical science is baffled with this unique blend of
eastern discipline that’s yoga and the Alcoholic Anonymous Program.
The students were so overwhelmed by the knowledge that Fr. Joe
shared with them and as they left one could hear them quip “ We don’t read
about this in our medical journals’ and another “ Can’t believe that Fr. Joe is
plus 72 years. He looks so young and energetic”. These students consisting of Aarti
Kamath, Aditi Hinge, Jyoti singh, Saket Patil. Priyanka Singh Dasila. Sagar
Wasule and Wasim Mujawar were interns of 111/1 MBBS and were accompanied by Dr.
Hemant Patil our cooperator from Vasai Virar Mahanagar Palika.
