Families Are Forever....Fr. Joe visits Friends of Kripa in Perth


During his recent visit to Perth, Australia,  Fr. Joe gave an  inspiring talk at the local parish in which was much appreciated by one and all.  Later he had an opportunity visit the home of Late Eugene's  sisters and their  families midst friends.
 Allan, Evelyn, Alana & Mark are great friends of Kripa in Australia.

SON OF THE SOIL FR. JOE - felicitated at the East Indian Program in Mount Carmel Parish, Bandra, Mumbai



At the "East Indian Manoranjan", an evening of song, food and other cultural Dhamaka, which was  organised  by the Mount Carmel Confraternity.Fr. Joe was felicitated by leading him to the stage, in a procession led by traditional East Indian dancing, accompanied by an East Indian Band. The spectators gave a standing ovation to Fr Joe as he was being felicitated. In his short address to the gathering Fr. Joe admired the love and affection bestowed on him by  one and all.
Popularly known as Singing Priest, the crowd demanded Fr Joe to sing a song which he fulfilled happily to the delight of one and all.

Fr Joe in his message in the souvenir that was released for the occasion, expressed his gratitude, towards the love and support of the East Indian Community that they bestowed towards Him and Kripa. He also expressed that the East Indian youth may pursue the path of education and be willing to offer their lives in service to the church and community. Indeed an evening to remember.

Breaking News.. His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias visits kripa Vasai


On 21st April 2014, 8.00 p.m. less than an hour ago, Kripa Vasai was honored with the visit by His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay. His Eminence who was on a visit to Vasai, took some time of to be with the patients in rehabilitation, People living with HIV/AIDS and the the staff.

 His Eminence who is also the Patron and Trustee of kripa Foundation was happy to spend some time at Kripa Vasai. All those at Kripa Vasai were touched by His Eminence' visits on Easter Monday .

Come Join my Party....Signed Jesus. - Fr. Joe at Maundy Thursday Service @ Kripa Vasai


Maundy Thursday also called Holy Thursday, is the beginning of the three days celebration of Easter the most important time in the year for Christians. This three days  called "TRIDUUM" is one big celebration, remembering the last supper,Crucifixion and the death of Jesus, and the Resurrection to New Life.

As been a practice for many years Fr. Joe celebrates  HOLY WEEK at Kripa Foundation Vasai with patients of the rehab, PLHA'S and people from the local community. However due to a prior commitments, Fr. Joe was in Australia doing programs and was not  present in Vasai for Palm Sunday Service, However was in time, to be for the "TRIDUUM" celebration at Kripa Vasai.

To a packed congregation Fr. Joe in his homily spoke of how on this "FEAST OF THE PRIEST" Christ at the Last Supper 2000 years ago, gave one strong message to his disciples,  " LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE  LOVED YOU". He further gave the example of Our Holy Father Pope Francis, who washed the feet of a Muslim prisoner girl. A sign of humility.

Fr. Joe at the service washed the feet of 12 people symbolizing the twelve disciples, these twelve were namely  drug addicts. alcoholics, PLHA and  people selected from the congregation.

At the end of the service each one was given a Cross Bun as a token of sharing the Meal om Maundy Thursday.

The crowd went home soaked with vision, a new dream to live a Christian Life in the footsteps of  Christ.and as they left wished Fr. Joe and Fr. Seraphine a  "HAPPY FEAST OF THE PRIEST"

ICTC inauguration at Kripa Vasai in Memory of Late Martha Hilary Pereira- Mother of Fr. Joe






On the 41st death anniversary of Late Mrs. Martha Hilary Pereira, (Mother of Fr. Joe Pereira) a memorial service  was held at Kripa Foundation Vasai.
Fr. Joe, going down memory lane recollected some fond memories of his late Mother after which along with his elder brother Mr. and Mrs Anthony and Heather Pereira and his sister Mrs. and Mr. Francisca and Wilfred Pereira  garland the beautiful painting portrait of  his Mother. In a heart moving moment Fr. Joe sang the chants of the prayer SARVA-DHARMA PRAYER" by Acharya Vinoba Bhave in Sanskrit, keeping the audience dumbstruck with his deep voice and knowledge of Sanskrit.
To mark the event VRACS held two programs in remembrance of Mrs Martha Hilary Pereira.

 As HIV/AIDS is a major social issue in this country. Early diagnosis, education and treatment are imperatives for the recovery of the patient. However stigma and the cost of treatment are major hindrances for patients to access help.
To help mitigate this problem Vasai Region AIDS Control Society (VRACS)- a KRIPAIDS initiative in collaboration with  Maharashtra State Aids Control Society (MSACS) set up a free HIV counselling and testing centre at Kripa Foundation, Papdy, Vasai. The inauguration was done by Chief Guest Fr. Joe H.Pereira, Founder Managing Trustee (recipient of the Padmashree award 2009) and Guest of Honor  Mr. Rattan Gadhave, District Program Officer, Thane. Dr. Anuparna Rane Chief Medical Officer VVMC, Dr. Rani Badnani Medical officer Vasai Muncipal Hospital, Dr M.S. Menon  along with VRACS Advisory Board Members. With the commencing of this program VRACS will conduct free pre and post test counselling in total confidentiality and hold regular ICTC camps in various locations in the region of Vasai –Virar.  
Later on the delegates moved onto the patio were the Children living with HIV/AIDS were distributed Medicines and Nutrition, under the project gifted by HIS Excellency Ambassador of Luxembourg.

On this special occasion Mr. P.G. Vanmali was felicitated by Fr. Joe H Pereira for receiving the " Bal Mitra" award from the Government of Maharashtra. Mr. Vanmali is a Member of the VRACS Advisory Board.  

The program ended with the service of snacks to over 175 guest.

Massive awareness program on ill effects of drug abuse by Kripa and Anti Narcotic Cell - Bandra Unit.

Yesterday ( 14/04/2014) evening, Anti-Narcotic Cell (Bandra Unit)  conducted an Awareness program  on ill effects of drug abuse along with kripa Foundation, Bandra at Mohd. Rafi Chowk- a busy junction tahts leads to the Bus terminus and Bandra Railway Station.


Banners and Posters were displayed on the vehicles, whilst the team answered queries by crowd on Drug and alcohol addiction, its ill-effects, preventive measures and recovery. Kripa News Letters and IC materials was distributed to the onlookers who stopped by.

The ANC team was represented by API  Mr. Mamulkar and API  Mr. Tuppe along with contstable Mr. Sawant. And Constable Mr. Jadhav The Kripa team was led by Vijay Pujari and a client of Kripa.

FR. JOE'S TEAM CREATES AN HISTORIC AWARENESS FOR UNDER-TRIALS IN THANE JAIL, MAHARASHTRA


Today on this Big Feast of Ram Navmi, Kripa team under the guidance of Fr, Joe H Pereira, Founder Managing Trustee of Kripa Foundation. www.kripafoundation.org ( at present doing programs in Australia) created an historic event by holding an awareness program on Addiction and HIV for under-trials inside the Thane jail premises.

This awareness would not have been possible without the help and support of dynamic  Jail Superintendent  Shri U.T. Pawar shahib whose zeal to reform these under-trails has no boundaries.

More than 200 under trails sat in disciplined apt attention for an hour listening to the team of Kripa speak on addiction and addiction related ailments like HIV. The awareness included the disease aspects and sharing by two Kripa patients who are still in recovery. it was heartening to see so many of the beneficiaries ask questions at the end to the team.

Kudos to Shri Ashok Kakare - Jailer grade-1 and Shri Vijay Kamble - Jailer grade-2 for their co-operation and well organized under-trails. A sincere gratitude to Guruiji Borse along with kokhrolo of TISS. Mumbai.who were the backbone of this awareness program.

The team shared with Shri U.T. Pawar shahib how Kripa is doing similar programs in Goa jails and in the North East of India. They also conveyed greeting of  Fr. Joe to him, and how Fr. Joe had called all the way from Australia to conveye  his blessings and prayers to the inmates. On hearing this the crowd of 200 stood up and gave a loud applause for the thought of Fr. Joe for thinking of them.

Superintendent U.T. Pawar shahib assured the Kripa team that they would have similar such programs in the near future.
The Kripa team was led by Bosco D'Souza our National Program Director,  Vijay Pujari, , Khemchand Nembhnani, Steven and Ajmaal from Bandra.

Nothing can replace the presence, the voice and the assurance of Fr. Joe who has walked the path.....of Yoga


At the recently concluded Yoga workshop  held at the renowned Clifton Yoga Studio, Melbourne one could hear the thundering yet supple voice of Fr. Joe, as he guided the yoga practitioners not just with asanas but with his gentle personal touch to each individual, encouraging them to develop their own wisdom and practice of yoga.
The workshop was a grand success and one could feel the energies of enlightenment not just with their  bodies but also their minds and souls.
