Fr. Joe conducts Intense training of Kripafoundation Iyengar Yoga for his staff and Friends of Kripa from all over India

On 9-14th May 2014, yoga staff members and Friends of Kripa from
across the country came together at Kripa Foundation Yoga Sanctuary in
the historic Albuquerque Mansion in Anjuna, Goa for an intense
training programme.

In the height of the Goan summer, programme participants underwent
detailed training from Father Joe in therapeutic and restorative yoga
protocols, which are to be implemented as standard procedures at all
Kripa facilities henceforth.

Evening 'sunset' meditations were led by Father Joe, in a variety of
serene locations including the ancient Chapora Fort, the beachfront of
Anjuna, Terra Nova clubhouse on the Kadamba Plateau overlooking the
Mandovi River (courtesy Friends of Kripa, Krishnaraj and Sangeeta
Sukerkar) and the state-of-the-art Yoga Pavilion at Aashiyana
Lakhanpal (courtesy of Friend of Kripa, Ajay Lakhanpal).

Programme participants received in-depth training on the theory and
exercise of Kripa Foundation Iyengar Yoga, with emphasis on best
practices for the full range of patients of all age groups and
physical abilities that Kripa serves. Staff members from across the
country were able to share and exchange ideas and specific challenges
faced in their respective locations, and each received individual
counselling and mentoring from Father Joe, Founder Managing Trustee Kripa Foundation and Senior yoga instructor of Iyengar Yoga.
Participants enjoyed family-style al fresco meals together at a
beautifully appointed outdoor location under century-old spreading
jackfruit and mango trees, with a fresh, varied menu prepared each day
by the tireless kitchen staff led by Lester, Sterling, Rouhington and
Noel. A special gratitude to the staff of Kripa Anjuna for their logistic support under the guidance of Bosco D'Souza National Program.  Director.Although having a packed schedule, Fr. Joe took time off to attend and be with Kemal the Founder member of AA in Goa in his last journey on Planer earth. At the funeral service Fr. Joe conducted a Special prayer service with fellow AA memebers and he himself an AA Trustee ( non alcoholic)of AA in India. Also present for the funeral were other office bearers of AA Goa.
