The Vasai-Virar Mayor's Marathon is an annual marathon race organised in Vasai-Virar area of Mumbai. Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation. Every Year Participants from all over Vasai Taluka & from the country take part in the Marathon.This marathon was established in 2011 This year the prize money was over 35 lakhs having over 15000 runners participating in the race in different categories. Rev. Fr Joe H Pereira was one of the Chief guest at the inaugural function of the Marathon race amidst a galaxy of interanationl renowned sportsmen and sports women. Fr. Joe gave a very inspiring message to the soprtsman and all runners how to say no to drugs and fight corrupt sportsmen by winning without taking any supplement drugs to boost their stamina.
